Local training you can trust — from Jason Griggs

XL Training exists to make quality mental health training available in the Riverland, without the cost and hassle of travelling to the city.

Hi, I’m Jason Griggs. I’m a licensed Mental Health First Aid instructor based in the Riverland, delivering nationally recognised courses to workplaces, sporting clubs, community groups and individuals right across our region.

I started XL Training because I kept seeing the same problem: locals who wanted to do the training but couldn’t justify a day (or two) driving to Adelaide, paying for accommodation and losing time off work. Mental health doesn’t stop at the city limits — and neither should good training.

As a licensed instructor I deliver Mental Health First Aid Australia’s accredited programs exactly as designed, earning participants a 3-year Mental Health First Aider accreditation. My job is to make the content practical, warm and relevant to life here — on farms, at the footy club, behind the counter and around the community.

What I care about most is that people leave feeling capable, not overwhelmed. Mental health can be a heavy topic, so I teach it in a way that’s warm, down-to-earth and grounded in real Riverland life — the harvest that didn’t go to plan, the quiet mate at training, the customer having a hard day. We practise the actual conversations, because knowing the theory and being able to use it are two very different things.

Whether you’re booking a seat for yourself or arranging training for your whole team, you’ll deal with me directly — from the first enquiry to the day itself. There’s no call centre and no interstate head office. If you’ve got a question about whether the course is right for your group, you can just ask me. That’s the point of local.
