What to expect

Two days that change how you show up for people

The public course is the full Standard Mental Health First Aid program — the same nationally recognised training delivered across Australia, run locally so you don’t lose two days to travel. It’s interactive from the start: you’ll learn a practical action plan, talk through real situations, and practise the conversations in a small, supportive group.

You’ll cover how to recognise and respond to depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance-use problems, plus crisis situations like suicidal thoughts, panic attacks and traumatic events. Come as an individual, a couple of colleagues, or a whole committee — everyone leaves with the same three-year accreditation.

  • Nationally recognised, evidence-based curriculum
  • Small groups (6–24) so everyone can take part
  • Real Riverland scenarios, not textbook theory
  • Official workbook, morning tea and certificate included
  • 3-year Mental Health First Aider accreditation
