Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book or attend XL Training courses.

Last updated: July 2026

These terms and conditions apply to all courses, bookings and services provided by XL Training (ABN 77 130 189 035) (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a course or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these terms.

Our courses

We deliver Mental Health First Aid Australia’s accredited courses as a licensed instructor. On successful completion of a Standard course, you receive a Mental Health First Aider accreditation valid for three years, subject to the requirements of Mental Health First Aid Australia. XL Training is not Mental Health First Aid Australia.

Public courses run with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 24 participants.

Public course bookings

  • Bookings are confirmed once payment is received (or, where offered, once a seat is reserved and paid via the secure link we send). Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Ticket prices are shown per person on each course page. Concession and not-for-profit (NFP) tickets are offered in good faith; by selecting one you confirm you are eligible.
  • A confirmation email is sent when your booking is complete, with venue details, times and what to bring.

Private and group training

  • Quotes for workplace, club and community training are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless stated otherwise.
  • To confirm a private booking we require acceptance of the quote and payment of a 50% deposit. The balance is payable as set out in your invoice.
  • Pricing is based on the group size and details you provide. Significant changes to numbers or dates may affect the quoted price.

Cancellations, transfers and refunds

  • By you (public courses): cancellations made 7 or more days before the course are refunded in full. Within 7 days, we are happy to transfer your seat to a future date or a substitute attendee; refunds within this period are at our discretion.
  • By you (private training): deposits are non-refundable but may be applied to a rescheduled course held within 6 months, where we are given reasonable notice.
  • By us: if we have to cancel or reschedule a course (for example, due to insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances), you may choose a full refund or a transfer to another date.

Payments

Online card payments are processed securely by Stripe. Invoiced amounts are payable by the due date shown. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD).

Participant wellbeing

Mental Health First Aid courses discuss sensitive topics, including suicide and self-harm. Our training is educational and is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, treatment or crisis support. If you or someone you know needs help now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or 000 in an emergency.

Intellectual property

Course materials are provided for your personal learning and remain the property of their respective owners (including Mental Health First Aid Australia and XL Training). They may not be copied, resold or used to deliver training without permission.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from a course or booking is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the amount you paid.

Privacy

We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
